Are we preparing our children to be the future of Klal Yisroel?

The Yeshiva world is flourishing. Our children are going to yeshivos, learning Torah and are davening daily. But is that really enough?

Today’s challenges are different.

Temptation is Everywhere

Is Yiddishkeit delightful enough to our children, so they can withstand it?

Frum Life is a Social Norm

Do we teach our children about the deeper meaning and purpose of our lives?

Everyone is Busy, Busy, Busy

Are we actually focusing and connecting to Hashem?

Our Story:

What We Saw
What We Did
What You Can Do

For 35 years, we saw students who broke from their challenges, students with low self-esteem, students who didn’t understand what they were doing and why, students who had no idea of the value of their Avodas Hashem, students who were drifting, confused, apathetic and angry.

And we saw the teachers – true Talmidei Chachamim, devoted Mechanchim. But they were lost when it came to dealing with problems that did not exist just a generation ago. And we realized the need for change.

Teach to Reach, an initiative of Priority 1, was founded in 2006 by R’ Shaya Cohen to address and prevent these challenges. Since then, the program has reached more than 1000 teachers around the USA.

Our presentations and resources are all based on teachings of Chazal. They explore topics that aren’t typically covered in the curriculum, and train teachers in ways that aren’t taught in classroom management courses. We focus on relationships, on connection, on understanding the deeper meaning behind Torah and Mitzvos. Go to library›

Only you, the mechanech, has the power to actually make an impact. It’s your classroom, your school. The tools are here for you to use.

Only you can uncover what already exists in your classroom: the next generation of committed Jews.

Our Mission:

To provide mechanchim with tools and resources to connect with their students, build real relationships, and inspire a lasting and passionate commitment to Yiddishkeit.

We are here for mechanchim and parents at every step of the way and continue to advance innovative solutions to complex and challenging problems. From an alternative high school program in a few small rented rooms, we have grown to a multifaceted organization with programs around the globe.

All our programs are developed by HaRav Shaya Cohen, Shlit”a and backed by the Vaad.

ABOUT RABBI COHEN >

Teach To Reach was launched by Rabbi Shaya Cohen (founder of Priority-1), at the recommendation of the Posek Hador, Maran HaRav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv Zt”l.

Who is R’ Shaya Cohen?

Rabbi Shaya Cohen, the Rosh HaYeshiva of Yeshiva Zichron Aryeh, has been trailblazing in the world of Chinuch for close to 50 years.

His deep rooted mission to serve the Jewish community was ingrained during his 15 years of tutelage under Rav Henoch Leibowitz Zt”l, the Rosh HaYeshiva of Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim.

After his marriage, R’ Shaya continued to bask in an environment of Torah giants, including his father-in-law, Rav Lazer Platzinsky. Rabbi Cohen went on to found the Valley Torah Center in Los Angeles, where he served as the dean for a decade.

Rabbi Cohen is the founder of Priority-1, a multifaceted educational organization. P-1 includes: Yeshivas Zichron Aryeh, Kollel Ner Yehoshua, Yeshiva Ohr Hatzafon and various other community training initiatives. Rabbi Cohen is a world-renowned speaker and has been a great source of guidance to thousands of parents and teachers in critical Chinuch issues of the day.
